With Canine Insight you won't just be signing your dog up to learn commands.
You'll work on building your dog's trust, learn how to communicate with your dog clearly, and become your dog's teammate.
While obedience is important, we believe
providing our dogs with the tools and problem solving skills they need to thrive in our increasingly modern world is one of the most important lessons both you and your dog will learn.

Samantha Snead
Owner/Head Trainer
In addition to being an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer, Sam is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and has experience training therapy dogs through K9 Caring Angels.
Hi! I'm so glad you're here.
My career with dog's started after I brought home my first dog at 19 years old. He had some behavioral issues that I was determined to fix myself. Working with him inspired me to learn everything I could about dog behavior and now I'm dedicated to helping dog owner's like you learn to love living with their dog's again.
In addition to graduating Animal Behavior College, I've also volunteered for animal shelters and spent years learning from mentor trainers. These experiences gave me hands-on experience with dog's of all breeds and temperaments and pushed me to go even farther. I became passionate about creating clear communication with our dog's and using play to build their confidence and our relationship with them.
I specialize in:
Puppy testing for proper home placements
Reactivity/Aggression
Play-based training (super fun!)
Dog sport foundations
Confidence building with fearful dogs
Hiking manners on trails
... and more!

Moose
Moose is my 6 year old Belgian Malinois that's been part of my life for almost 3 years.
He is a fun, spunky, high drive dog that LOVES to work, work, work!
Moose and I currently compete in French Ring, Fast Cat, Wall Climb and Disc (frisbee games), and we're always trying out new sports because he enjoys learning new things!
Moose has pushed me to be a better handler, trainer and teammate. His dedication to his person is unmatched, and I will forever be grateful for the (often hard) lessons he has taught me.
While he can be a busy body, he also really enjoys snuggles, belly rubs and being lazy at home. He is always down for anything that I am, and it makes living with him so easy.
5 miles hikes? The best!
Bike ride together? So fun!
Lay in bed for the whole day? That's awesome too!

Riley
Riley, a 8 1/2 year old pit bull mixed dog that I've had since he was around 4 months old. He is the dog who started it all for me and got me the most interested in dog training from the start.
He is incredibly loyal, smart, sweet, and dedicated to me and I absolutely adore his personality. He knows over 40 commands and tricks and can do it all. He loves learning new things and is always happy to try new things with me.
He is my "Heart Dog". We think through things similarly, view the world the same, and trust each other the same way. His personality matches mine perfectly, and we flow together very well.
On any given day, Riley can be found cuddling on the couch with the people he loves the most. Riley has his first two legs of the Canine Good Citizens Test as well as his Trick Dog Title! Riley is also in training to become a certified Therapy Dog! He loves people and adores the attention he gets as well.
Aside from being my pet, he is also my coworker, my teacher, and my little shadow. He forces me to think outside the box each and every day, and the lessons he has taught me is immeasurable.

Wiggles

Wiggles is an 8 year old Boxer that I have had since he was 8 weeks old. His real name is Ares, but because there isn't a remotely serious thing about him, he adapted to the nickname Wiggle Butt, which somehow turned into Dr. Sir Captain Wiggles, and so it stuck forever.
Wiggles is a very simple minded creature and really enjoys the small things in life. The only things he lives for are food, cuddles, and affection. If I were to let him loose in a big park, he would find his way to the playground and hang out with the kids all day.
He has a very silly, laid back, loving personality and while he is not going to bring home any competition title, I can always count on him to meet me on the couch after a long day and snuggle up together.
